Switzerland is well known globally for its picturesque scenery of nature, especially Jungfraujoch featured as Top of Europe. Despite the high living expenses in Switzerland, this still won't stop the footstep of the tourists coming here. Today, I am going to introduce the beautiful small towns in the Jungfraujoch  region, as well as a small town located in Central of Switzerland. I am pretty sure these towns not to be missed during the first-time visit to Switzerland, which will make you fascinated by these incredible attractions! Let's take a look!

1. Interlaken——Beautiful town under Jungfraujoch

Interlaken is located under Jungfrau and surrounded by 3 high mountains. You can observe the peak of Elger and Monch simultaneously from the town, which makes you feel like you come to fairyland on Earth. If you want to overlook an unobstructed view of the whole town, you must not miss the steepest modern funicular in the world.The Top of Harder Kulm can be reached by the funicular, and you can enjoy an exciting ride along the way. 

When you reach the observation deck, you will be amazed by the panorama view of the town as it captures into your sight. You can look closer to the mountainous, and the summit covered by white snow, while this is a scenic ambient photoshoot background.

The meaning of Interlaken in Latin is between both lakes, which indicates Interlaken located between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. You can overlook the great view of both lakes from the observation deck, and the azure blue lake seems sparkling in the sun. The quaint houses in the town arrange orderly, which outlining the whole town. The visitors enjoy the magnificent mountain and lakes in front of the eyes with an unobstructed view. The observation deck is only open from April to November. 

When you come to Interlaken, you can choose to stay in any accommodation overnight. You can experience the nice feeling of look up to a snow mountain when you stepped out every time. Interlaken situated in level land, and there is greenery lash in the surrounding. In Interlaken, you can see many local citizens bring their dog stroll around, or cycling in a relaxed mood. Interlaken offers plenty of activities, such as horse riding, casinos, shopping streets, and other activities.

 

Interlaken is an important transport hub, as Interlaken Ost can depart to Jungfraujoch and nearby town, which is a gathering place for the tourists who want to go to Jungfraujoch.

2. Grindelward ——Town with snow mountain

Grindelwald is one of the transportation stopovers to Jungfraujoch, and you can admiring the snowy mountains of the Alps. Grindelwald can be reached by the train from Interlaken, and you can gaze on spectacular view through the window along the way. The wooden house nestled on the mountain from up to down, which looks like only exist in fairyland. When you reach Grindelwald, you will be amazed by the beauty of the snow town. The clear snows are thickly accumulating on the rooftop of every wooden house, with the scenic backdrop of snow-capped Eiger, all the things seem to be covered by a layer of white color.

There are a lot of restaurants and hotels on Grindelwald main street which ease tourists, as well as souvenir shops and outdoor sports shop. If you fancy yourself as an adventurous lover, you can take the cable car from Grindelwald to First. First offers various types of activities such as kart, flying fox, and sky walkaway, which you can experience an exciting feeling.

3. Lauterbrunnen——Waterfall Town

If you depart from Interlaken, you have two options for the train, one to Grindelwald while another one is to Lauterbrunnen. This town situated in a deep valley, surrounded by snowy mountains. When the snow melts, it becomes a waterfall and falls, forming a spectacular view of 72 waterfalls falling down together. There are not many citizens living in the town, and the number of houses is very few. The town exudes a sort of quaint atmosphere, and you can feel calm when you stay in the town.  

4. Murren ——Fairyland Town

When coming to Murren, you need to take the cable car from Lauterbrunnen and then transfer to an old train. The entire train carriage looks retro, while you can admiring the stunning view through a panoramic window. Murren has an excellent strategic location, is located above the cliff of Lauterbrunnen, and at the foot of Sharon, from which you can view mountain of Jungfraujoch in a close distance.

The houses in the town are made up of wood style, and adorned by residents with colorful paint, while visitors will feel like a step into a fairyland town. You can appreciate blooming seas of flowers during summer, with the backdrop of green grass and snow mountain, which like a paradise. This is a nice place for ski during the winter season.

5. Luzern——Historical town

Luzern situated in the central region of Switzerland, while the building in the town full of strong medieval styles. Luzern has a historical flair, shows different scenery from the small towns around the Jungfraujoch. Kaber Bridge is an iconic landmark, connect both ends of Luzern Lake. The bridge is built to resist enemies, now transforming to sightseeing purposes, allowing tourists to walk along the bridge. Tourists can take a boat tour to explore the lake. There is a lot of fountains in the town, forming a special view.
